"Sweet Mother Mary, I offer thee this spiritual communion to bind my bouquets in a wreath to place upon thy brow..."
Taken from the closing prayer of the 54 day Novena to Our Lady.
Made using a process called cyanotype. Cyanotype is a photographic printing process that produces a cyan-blue print. Engineers used the process well into the 20th century as a simple way to produce copies of drawings known as blueprints. The process uses two chemicals, ferric ammonium citrate and potassium ferricyanide, the sun and a lot of patience mingled with grace. Each piece is unique and perfect in its imperfection. No two colors are exactly the same based on the amount of sun exposure and brightness at the time. Lines, gradient and water spots may be present and are all part of this unique process.
On 3/4" thick, 16" round birch wood with wire hanging.
