Watercolor print featuring Saint Adelaide.
Saint Adelaide of Burgundy was used as a tool in the political struggles of her day and was eventually married to the German King Otto and they were eventually crowned as emperors in Rome in 952. After being widowed, Adelaide returned to act as regent to her step-grandson and used her position of power to help the poor and to evangelize.
