Watercolor print featuring Saint Margaret of Hungary.
Born the daughter of the King of Hungary, Saint Margaret was entrusted to a Dominican convent at the age of the 3. By the age of 12, she professed her vows and became a novice. She had so much sympathy for the poor that she imitated their lifestyles by rejecting personal hygiene and care. She was completely devoted to the poor, so much so that she took up the most undesirable tasks and performed what were called “marvelous” services to the sick.
